As an F&B Manager, you play a key role in creating an unforgettable guest experience at The Kontiki. You are responsible for the daily operations and performance of your assigned F&B outlet(s), ensuring that our food, beverage, service, and hospitality standards are consistently maintained.

You lead and support your team, work closely with the Executive Chef and other departments, and ensure that the operation runs smoothly, efficiently, and in line with The Kontiki standards and budget.

You are a hands-on and inspiring leader who is visible on the floor, especially during peak hours and events. You know how to motivate your team, create a positive working environment, and ensure every guest receives the service and experience they expect from The Kontiki.

In the role of F&B Manager, you are directly accountable to the F&B Director.

 

What will you do?

As the F&B Manager, you are responsible for:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the assigned F&B outlet(s).
  • Ensure high standards of service, quality, cleanliness, and guest experience.
  • Be present during peak hours, weekends, events, and public holidays.
  • Ensure proper staffing, scheduling, and smooth daily operations.
  • Handle guest questions, requests, and complaints professionally.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions.
  • Lead, motivate, coach, and support the F&B team.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and monitor performance.
  • Provide clear feedback and address performance issues when needed.
  • Support onboarding, training, and employee development.
  • Lead by example and promote a positive team culture.
  • Maintain consistent food, beverage, and service standards.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and F&B teams.
  • Support the implementation of new menus, products, and concepts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve F&B experience.
  • Monitor sales, costs, stock, and operational performance.
  • Work within approved labor and operational budgets.
  • Control food, beverage, labor, and other operational costs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, revenue, and profitability.
  • Report relevant developments to the Director of F&B.
  • Maintain clear communication within the F&B team and with other departments.
  • Ensure all procedures, checklists, and house rules are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, safety, and labor regulations.
  • Coordinate with Finance, HR, Marketing, Sales, Maintenance, and other supporting departments when needed.

You are a visible and hands-on leader who knows how to motivate a team and maintain high standards, even during busy periods. You are organized, commercially minded, solution-oriented, and comfortable taking responsibility for the daily operation.

You have an entrepreneurial mindset and are always looking for ways to improve guest experience, team performance, and operational efficiency.

You also bring:

  • MBO/HBO level of thinking and working, preferably in Hospitality, F&B, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience within Food & Beverage or hospitality.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience within F&B.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurants, bar, and/or beach club operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of F&B costs and profitability.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and during events.
  • A hands-on mentality and willingness to support the team whenever necessary.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language. Spanish and/or Papiamentu is a plus.
  • Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
