The role

As a Houseman, you are the face of The Kontiki and you play a key role in creating an unforgettable experience. You play a crucial role in the appearance of our resort. You ensure that all public areas, corridors and facilities always look clean, well-kept and welcoming. Together with the housekeeping team, you create an environment in which our guests immediately feel at home. With your commitment and eye for detail, you contribute to a carefree and comfortable experience for every guest.

Where will you be working?

As a Houseman you will be working at The Kontiki. An organization in which everyone contributes with their unique characteristic but together as a team to exceed the expectations of our guests. In the role of Houseman, you will be directly accountable to the Housekeeping Executive.

 

What will you do?

As a Houseman, you are responsible for:

  • Maintaining and cleaning public areas, corridors and other facilities.
  • Taking care of the transport of linen to and from the laundry room.
  • Replenishment of cleaning materials and supplies in the pantries on the floors.
  • Collection and disposal of waste and used crockery.
  • Assist in setting up and moving furniture when needed.
  • Identifying and reporting technical malfunctions and damage.
  • Supporting guest requests, such as baggage transport and other assistance.
  • Ensuring a representative appearance of all facilities within the resort.
  • Providing support to the housekeeping team at peak times.

With an entrepreneurial mindset, you will proactively take on opportunities and work independently, while always being performance-oriented and striving for excellent results.

You also bring:

  • Experience in cleaning/hospitality is an advantage.
  • Physically capable of performing cleaning and transportation tasks.
  • Flexible employability, evenings/weekends/holidays.
  • Has insight into the needs of the guest and always puts the guest first.
  • Has an enthusiastic, friendly, solution-oriented and guest-oriented personality.
  • Looks impeccable (presentation).
  • Knowledge in word and writing of the Dutch and English language. (Spanish and Papiamentu is also desired).
