The role

As a Front Office Supervisor, you are the face of The Kontiki and you play a key role in creating an unforgettable experience. You are responsible for the overall progress of the shifts, motivating and coaching the team. Guest orientation is one of our strongest points at reception, and this must be maintained with the aim of reaching an even higher level. Planning, productivity, and attention to detail are important aspects of this role.

In the role of Front Office Supervisor, you will be directly accountable to the Assistant Front Office Manager.

 

What will you do?

As the Front Office Supervisor, you are responsible for:

  • Ensuring the perfect guest experience at the resort and contributing to their dream vacation on Curacao.
  • First point of contact for both the Guest Experience team and Guest Service team as well as the guests.
  • Training or onboarding new staff.
  • Checking, coordinating, motivating the Front Office team and Guest Service.
  • Ensures the development, management of the employees and the optimal use of the qualities present.
  • Performing reception work in rotating shifts, including checking in and out, cash management, taking reservations, providing information and service.
  • Ensuring that the shift runs smoothly.
  • Handles simple complaints and solves them independently or calls in the help of the Assistant Front Office Manager for more serious complaints.
  • Monitoring the standards and procedures regarding the service and guest experience.
  • Carry out administrative checks to provide an efficient service.
  • You are jointly responsible together with the Assistant Front Office Manager for the financial settlement and cost control.
  • Contact managers from the beach clubs regarding information from guests and/or events/special wishes/complaints/feedback.
  • Keeping the front office, lobby and barista representative.
  • Upselling internal and external products and managing and motivating the Front Office team.
  • Maintaining the transfer list and the administration of transfers with external transport companies.

With an entrepreneurial mindset, you will proactively take on opportunities and work independently, while always being performance-oriented and striving for excellent results.

You also bring:

  • Minimum MBO working and thinking level.
  • Hospitality, tourism, hotel school or similar education.
  • At least one year of work experience in a hotel reception.
  • You have spoken and written knowledge of the Dutch and English language. (Spanish and Papiamentu is also desired).
  • Is decisive and reliable.
  • Flexible employability, evenings/weekends/holidays.
  • No 9 to 5 mentality, hands-on.
  • You have good communication and social skills.
  • Able to build relationships with guests.
  • Knowledge of PMS system, preferably from Opera.
  • Authorized to issue quotations/confirmations.
  • Has an enthusiastic, friendly and guest-oriented personality.
