The role

As a GL Accountant, you are the face of The Kontiki and play a key role in creating an unforgettable experience. You are responsible for the correct, complete and timely conduct of the general ledger administration of several entities within the group. The role forms the backbone of financial reporting and supports monthly, quarterly and year-end closings, with a strong focus on balance sheet files, reconciliations and provisions.

In the role of a GL Accountant, you are directly accountable to Head of Finance.

 

What will you do?

The GL Accountant is responsible for:

  • Managing and controlling various ledger accounts within multiple entities.
  • Responsible for correct reconciliations, specifications and substantiation of balance sheet items.
  • Identifying and resolving deviations in ledger accounts.
  • Helping to ensure audit-proof balance sheet files.
  • Active role in the monthly, quarterly and year-end close for multiple entities.
  • Preparing journal entries, accruals and corrections.
  • Providing financial information to the Head of Finance and Financial Controller.
  • Supporting consolidation preparation (input towards reporting & consolidation).
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure proper financial integration.
  • Coordination with: Income Auditor, accounts payable & payroll.
  • Ensuring internal control measures within the general ledger administration.
  • Preparing information for internal and external audits.
  • Actively thinking about improvements in financial processes and reporting structure.
  • Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across the group.

You also bring:

  • Masteropleiding in Finance & Management, Business Administration of Accounting (UNA)
  • Bachelor’s degree programme (UNA), supplemented with relevant work experience
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) – starter
  • SPD (Practical Diploma in Accounting/Business Administration)
